The inaugural Behind The Scenes Awards (#BTSAs) is set to revolutionize the South African entertainment industry by honoring the unsung heroes who drive its success. This groundbreaking awards ceremony will celebrate the exceptional talent and tireless dedication of the individuals and teams that work diligently behind the scenes to create unforgettable experiences.
From celebrity management and content creation to drama production and music broadcasting, the BTSAs will recognize excellence across a diverse range of sectors. By spotlighting the contributions of everyone from established industry leaders to emerging talent, the awards aim to foster a culture of appreciation and inclusivity.
Founded by seasoned PR specialists Ngcebo Mdima and Karabo Motlogelwa, the BTSAs embody a commitment to excellence. “It’s time to celebrate those who make the stars shine,” says Mdima. “We believe in challenging the status quo and recognizing the incredible work done by often-overlooked individuals and teams.”
The first BTSAs will take place on November 9th, 2024, at Gold Reef City’s Lyric Theatre. The media launch will be held on August 15th, 2024, where 20 award categories will be announced.
With a focus on collective achievement, the BTSAs will acknowledge the collaborative efforts that underpin the entertainment industry. The only individual category will be for Content Creators, given their diverse collaborations.
