Vehicle personalisation is a commonplace in South Africa as owners customise their cars, bakkies and sport utility vehicles to suit their individual style as well as their practical and lifestyle needs. To satisfy the growing demand for top-quality accessories on its vehicles, Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (Manufacturing) (Pty) Ltd (“Ford South Africa”) is introducing eye-catching accessory packs for two of its popular models – the Everest Sport and the Ranger XLT.
“The accessory market is huge, allowing customers to personalise their vehicles according to their unique styling and lifestyle requirements. We have introduced styling accessory packs to enable Everest Sport and Ranger XLT customers to give their vehicles an even bolder appearance while guaranteeing the highest level of quality and performance to match the proven capabilities of the vehicles themselves,” says Sunil Sewmohan, Executive Director, Product Marketing, at Ford South Africa.
The styling packs comprise Genuine Ford Accessories and official Ford Licensed Accessories that are designed and tested to the same standards as Ford’s original equipment parts. They will be available from the second half of August as dealer fitment options prior to the delivery of a new vehicle. The accessory pack ordered and fitted with the new vehicle purchase will be covered by Ford’s four-year/120 000km new vehicle warranty.
Customers that already own a current-generation Everest Sport or Ranger XLT, or purchase a second-hand vehicle of the same derivative, can also have the accessories fitted by their Ford dealer – in which case the parts are covered by Ford’s over-the-counter two-year/unlimited distance parts warranty.
“The tailored accessory packs give Everest and Ranger customers a one-stop solution for their accessory needs, as well as the reassurance of Ford quality in the parts that are fitted as well as the workmanship of our specially trained Ford dealer staff,” Sewmohan says. “Furthermore, combining these items makes it more affordable than if they were added individually, ensuring even better value for our customers.”
Everest Sport
The Everest Sport is one of the most popular models in the Everest line-up, offering a distinctive design with its trademark black trim finishes and the attractive 20-inch wheels, along with exceptional versatility, comfort, safety and all-round capability.
The styling accessory pack, which is priced at R18 000 (including VAT) enhances all of these attributes, giving the Everest Sport an even bolder appearance. The front view has a more assertive presence with the fitment of a new grille incorporating muscular ‘FORD’ lettering framed between the two horizontal bars. This is complemented by matt black headlamp surrounds that further emphasise the distinctive C-clamp LED headlight design in front – a treatment that is echoed at the rear with black surrounds for the LED taillight clusters.
The dynamic character of the Everest Sport is further accentuated with the fitment of black fender flairs that impart a more powerful stance, complemented by bonnet and bodyside decals that add to the sporty flair.
As a finishing touch, the door sills are fitted with exclusive ‘EVEREST’ scuff plates that add an upmarket edge and provide an additional layer of functional protection against damage when climbing into or exiting the vehicle.
Ranger XLT
The Ranger XLT offers a compelling mix of standard features, competitive pricing, and the outstanding capability and reliability that customers have come to appreciate from the Ranger. As one of the best-sellers in the Ranger line-up, the XLT is the perfect candidate for the specially developed accessories pack that will ensure it stands out in a crowd, while retaining the trusted quality and performance this vehicle is renowned for.
The accessory pack for the Ranger XLT is priced at R27 500 (including VAT), and features the bold black painted ‘FORD’ grille that gives it a commanding presence on the road, complemented by the addition of “RANGER” bonnet lettering that adds an exclusive touch. Matt black surrounds add prominence to the distinctive C-clamp LED headlamp clusters and daytime running lights in front, as well as for the vertically stacked light clusters at the rear.
Rugged capability is emphasised with the fitment of muscular black fender flairs while lower bodyside mouldings on the doors enhance practicality and protect the bodywork and paint against damage, particularly in tough working environments.
The final touch is the fitment of a beefy long-legged sports bar, which reinforces the spirit of Living the Ranger Life and embodies the Ranger’s adventurous, go-anywhere toughness.
