Mzansi Magic has announced that its popular telenovela, Champions, will not be renewed for a second season. The final episode of the series will air on 31 January 2025.
Launched on 5 February of this year, Champions has captivated audiences with its compelling storyline and talented cast. Featuring a star-studded ensemble including Jo-anne Reynecke, Sello Maake ka-Ncube, Tumisho Masha, and Kwenzo Ngcobo, the telenovela has become a prime-time favourite.
Shirley Adonisi, Director of Local Entertainment Channels at Mzansi Magic, expressed gratitude for the support received from the cast, production company Tshedza Pictures, and advertisers. “We appreciate their dedication to bringing Champions to life and entertaining our viewers,” she said.
Adonisi further emphasized Mzansi Magic’s commitment to delivering quality programming. “While Champions is coming to an end, we are actively developing new and exciting shows to fill our prime-time slots in 2025. Our aim is to continue providing our audience with compelling content that resonates with them,” she concluded.
Viewers can look forward to an action-packed conclusion to Champions, with unexpected twists and turns and exciting cameo appearances in the coming months.
