OMODA & JAECOO, the fast-growing automotive brands collectively known as Brand O&J, are delighted to announce a new partnership with Absa, one of Africa’s leading diversified financial services groups. This collaboration aims to provide South African car buyers with a simplified and efficient vehicle financing experience.
The partnership has led to the creation of OMODA JAECOO Finance, a dedicated Absa product designed to meet the specific needs of OMODA & JAECOO customers.
“We are thrilled to partner with Absa, a respected financial institution with a growing reputation as the preferred bank for the automotive industry,” said Shannon Gahagan, National Brand and Marketing Manager at OMODA & JAECOO. “This collaboration will offer comprehensive financing options, making our already competitively priced vehicles even more accessible to South African customers. Brand O&J enthusiasts can expect exciting credit offers to be announced soon,” Gahagan added.
OMODA & JAECOO have quickly established themselves in the South African market. In April 2023, South Africa became the first African nation to welcome the OMODA brand. The C5’s distinctive design stood out in a market saturated with conventional crossover SUVs. The limited-edition C5 GT joined the lineup later that year in November.
OMODA’s product range is set to expand further in 2024 with the arrival of the highly anticipated C9 luxury flagship and the fully electric E5. Additionally, the C7 is slated for a local introduction in the future.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to driving innovation and accessibility within the automotive financing sector,” said Charl Potgieter, Managing Executive at Absa Vehicle and Asset Finance. “By collaborating with OMODA & JAECOO, we ensure a seamless and efficient financing process for customers, solidifying Absa’s position as the leading bank in the automotive industry. Our goal is to empower South Africans to achieve their car ownership dreams with unparalleled convenience and exceptional service.”
JAECOO, a recently established urban off-road SUV brand, launched its first model, the J7, in South Africa as recently as April 2024. The J7’s immediate success solidified South Africa’s position as both the first right-hand-drive market and the first African nation to launch the vehicle.
The JAECOO portfolio is poised for further growth in the coming months, expanding beyond the current three-model J7 lineup. Local customers can expect the arrival of the J8 PHEV later in 2024, with the J6 also planned for a future introduction. More details on these upcoming models will be revealed closer to their respective launch dates.
