Rüsselsheim: Opel is set to revive the Frontera nameplate in 2024 with the introduction of an all-new SUV model. Scheduled for presentation later this year, the upcoming Frontera promises to blend fun driving dynamics with innovative functional features. It will embody a fresh interpretation of Opel’s distinctive design philosophy, boasting rugged aesthetics, and proudly showcasing the brand’s new Opel ‘Blitz’ emblem. Notably, the new Frontera will debut as a battery-electric vehicle, emphasizing Opel’s commitment to eco-friendly mobility solutions.

Florian Huettl, CEO of Opel, expressed confidence in the choice of the Frontera name for their dynamic SUV, positioning it squarely within the heart of the market.

The forthcoming Opel Frontera is designed to offer ample space and versatility, catering to individuals with active lifestyles and families alike. True to Opel’s tradition of providing accessible mobility, the new model is expected to be competitively priced, further broadening its appeal.

The introduction of the electric variant of the new Frontera, alongside the launch of the all-electric version of the next generation Grandland slated for the same year, marks a significant milestone in Opel’s journey towards becoming a fully electric brand. Opel’s commitment extends to offering at least one battery-electric variant in each of its carlines.

Opel’s current lineup of battery-electric vehicles includes the Rocks Electric quadricycle, the Corsa Electric, the Mokka Electric, the Astra Electric, and Astra Sports Tourer Electric, as well as the new Combo Electric and Zafira Electric people carriers. Additionally, Opel offers battery-electric versions of its entire commercial vehicle portfolio, including the new Combo Electric, Vivaro Electric, and Movano Electric.

In the coming weeks, Opel plans to unveil the first glimpses of the new Frontera, providing enthusiasts with detailed insights into the innovative features and design elements of this eagerly anticipated SUV.
