Adidas Originals and Willy Chavarria have released a collection this Fall which draws from the gritty energy of 90s style, while continuing Chavarria’s exploration of proportion, identity, and cultural heritage.
The collection takes inspiration from vintage sportswear silhouettes, playing with exaggerated proportions and layered styling. Across apparel and footwear, familiar adidas heritage silhouettes are reworked through Chavarria’s lens, balancing athletic references with the designer’s unmistakable fashion point of view.
The apparel offering centers on relaxed, oversized silhouettes such as the Chavarria Track Jacket and Track Pant and the Chavarria Dazzle Short and Dazzle LS Jersey accented by the classic three stripes classic detailing in red. Chavarria’s signature design codes can be found throughout the collection, such as the rose iconography on the Dark Rose Tee, and the Chavarria Chicano Sweatshirt which pays homage to the designer’s Mexican-American heritage through Red, White, and Green accents inspired by the colors of the Mexican flag, infusing the designer’s deeply personal cultural references into the adidas Originals collection.
The footwear continues the partnership’s exploration of the Megaride franchise with three new expressions: the Mega Willy Low in Black and Agave and the Willy Mega Mid in Black. Across low and mid-cut proportions, the silhouettes exemplify that the collaboration is equally rooted in sport heritage as it is in contemporary street culture.
Together, the October collection captures the design essence and visual language that is central to the adidas x Chavarria partnership; where sport and fashion meet heritage and modern street.
